I thought it was a Pepper plant

I didn't plant any tomatoes. I planted sweet red bell peppers. I saved the seeds from some peppers that we ate. This is what grew from the seeds. I've been watching this 'fruit' develop, thinking to myself, gee, this looks like a tomato. I thought that maybe it was a stunted red pepper because I didn't buy seeds and instead used them from a store-bought pepper. It just didn't get any bigger, and then suddenly it turned nice and red. So I took some pictures of it, picked it, and sliced it open. It was a very delicious cherry tomato. I'm stumped. No, I didn't use any compost in my garden. I did re-use the dirt from my old garden, but I let that garden sit fallow for two years before moving the bed to its present location. Yes, I grew yellow pear tomatoes in the old garden. Yellow Pear, not Cherry.

Dress-up Queen

Awyn adores her dress-up play clothes. She puts everything on at once, and it really doesn't matter what something is supposed to be, so long as she gets it on. This is actually about the most coordinated I've ever seen her - she's wearing skirts as skirts and tops as tops (she's got 3-4 skirts on, and two tops)

Black Swallowtail Caterpillars

My dill and parsley plants are covered in these caterpillars. I knew they liked parsley, from a school project here in the park, but they originally appeared on my dill plants. There are probably about 30 caterpillars in my garden right now. They are at different ages and stages. The first of them appeared a month or two ago.

Thomas Recall

I'm using this picture of Awyn playing in Sam's Thomas train set box to post a recall on Thomas the Train toys. These are specifically part of the wooden set, of which Sam doesn't own any part. Here's the link:

There is a picture at the bottom of the website. If your child plays with wooden Thomas the Train toys, please look up this link!

Shh, Mama, Awyn's waking up!

I crept into the room to take a picture of Awyn hamming it up waaaaaaayyyyyy past her bedtime, to be told to be quiet, because I was waking up Awyn.

Shirtless Sam

Sam cannot handle wearing a wet shirt, even if that wet spot is the size of a pencil eraser. Off goes the shirt. He'll practically tear it trying to remove it. I might, after it's completely dry, be able to get him to wear it again. He spilled water on himself at a picnic party last Saturday.

I'm Mad!

When Awyn gets mad, she either slaps the floor, or throws the books off the shelf. Really, lately the book throwing usually only happens when she wants to read a book and we have something else on the agenda. Note the cute new dress. These halter dresses are all the rage right now among the toddler set.

Overlooking the Indian Lodge

The white blob in the background is Indian Lodge in the Davis Mountains. We stayed there on Monday night. The kids had a blast, and we found it very relaxing.
