Horse at the Corner

This is our landmark for where to turn off the highway. I hope they never remove it; it will make it ever so much easier to give directions to our new house!

Front Yard, view towards road

The wood rail fence is the front of the yard, by the road.

The horse and shed

Ok, so we're not actually getting the horse. Sam and Awyn are convinced the house comes with a horse and two dogs. They are in for a bit of a bad shock, and will probably be mad at us, especially over the dogs. They really liked the dogs. We will have the enclosure to have a horse. Maybe goats. Maybe chickens. Maybe not. I know nothing about keeping livestock. I'm a city girl. Eric's the country boy.

Small garden

As seen through the pecan trees, there's a small, fenced garden. I'm looking forward to planting! Can you tell I'm mostly just posting pictures as I find them?

Storm shelter

It's a little blurry, but you get the idea.

Young Pecan Trees

There are a few Pecans near the garden. The house in the background is our closest neighbor. The swimming pool (blue) is in the horse pen, on our property. This is from the backyard, but not quite next to the house.

Frog Fire Pit

I know the frogs will move. I asked Eric to take a picture anyway, because I liked them and the way they were around the fire pit. What you can't tell from any of the pictures is that there seems to be a small landing strip framed by flowers leading up to this. It tickled my funnybone, so now I'm plotting how I'll take advantage to this.

Part of the yard

This is one of the May 2007 pictures, much greener than what we took.

Living Room

All of the interior pictures are from last May, and are not quite so current. The floor in the living room is now wood (or laminate), instead of carpet, and I know I'll like that better. Eric's parents put a laminate floor in their kitchen way back when they remodeled, and I've loved it ever since, so I'm happy about this change. I think the sponging on the wall is more royal blue than purple. I'm debating on whether or not to tone it down, maybe I'll just sponge over it with the neutral background color. I like the color, and I do think it would be a bit dark if it was the only color on the wall. This isn't a large house, so dark walls would make it seem a little too confined.

Awyn's room

It's pink and fit for a princess! Given that Awyn will adore it right away, I see no need to redo it at all. I might change the border at the top, or take it down, but mostly just because I'm not a border kind of gal. I'm not certain this picture truly conveys how pink this room really is. It's more of a purpley pink, and very vivid. The sponge painting gives it a nice relief.

Sam's room

This is the smaller bedroom. It will be Sam's. For starters, I'll remove the border. It's adorable for a baby, but not for a 5 year old boy. The green is a nice, bright shade, so I don't think I'll do anything to it, at least not right away. Because of the size of this room, I think Sam will be getting bunk beds, and Awyn will get his double bed set.

Frog Bathroom

Heather, this is the upstairs bathroom. Yes, it's a froggy delight. I love it! So will you when you come out to visit...

Dining room

The owner repainted this room to a more neutral solid shade of pink.

Kitchen

Keep in mind, the tile is the same, but the pink sponge painting has been redone to a more neutral solid pink.

My Stickers!

Awyn wouldn't let Daddy take a picture of her stickers.

Oh, I guess you can see some of my stickers!

Awyn really did walk out of the mall today covered in stickers up both arms. The salesgirl did a good thing in giving the kids sheets of stickers while I took 5 minutes to try on shoes.

Climbing the Castle

This is really part of the old bridge. Eric can elaborate more on it, but I think it was the park's official entry way back when. The kids liked it a lot, but really wanted to go back to a 'troll bridge' nearby to look for trolls.

Vendome Well

Sam and Awyn pose in front of the fountain. They really liked this part and asked to return many times.

Sam and Eric took sips at the same time - I looked, this is Pavilion Spring

New Park

Sam and Awyn thought this little creek that flows under Daddy's new nature center was a river. Of course, they've really only got the Rio Grande to compare to, and this creek was about the same size and flow rate.
